Rucu Pichincha climbing program – 1 day
This is an extinct volcano, very erosioned by ancient Glaciers, that have polished its declivity and left rocky sharp pointed peaks. The volcano is really a mountain with two peaks: Rucu Pichincha is the lowest and means "old" (4.675 meters) and Guagua Pichincha, the highest and active (4.794 meters) that means "child".
This peak is an excellent start in the process of adapting to weather conditions. Starting at the el telepheric at 4.000 meters of altitude we may have a panoramic view of the City of Quito and the surrounding mountains.
